Sendro collects nothing about you.

Last updated: 9 September 2026 · Sendro 1.0.2 · VIDI LABS

The short version: Sendro has no server. Your files, your name, your email address, your location and the way you use the app are sent nowhere, because there is nowhere to send them. A file goes from your device to your device, across your own network.

01What is not collected

  • The files you send or receive. None are uploaded, copied or scanned anywhere.
  • Account details. Sendro has no sign-up, no sign-in, no email and no phone number.
  • Usage and analytics. Which screen you opened and how many files you sent are reported nowhere.
  • Crash reports, advertising identifiers, tracking cookies, third-party SDKs.

02What stays on your device

Everything the app needs to work lives only in that device's own storage, and goes away with the app when you delete it.

Paired devicesThe device name and id. The access token is kept in the phone's secure store (Keychain or EncryptedSharedPreferences). The computer stores only its SHA-256 digest, never the token itself.
Transfer historyFile name, size, date and outcome. On that device only; you can clear it completely from the Library screen.
NotesShort texts you send and receive stay on the phone for 24 hours, then delete themselves. The computer never writes them to disk. It only holds them in memory and forgets them when the card is closed.
SettingsDevice name, download folder, watched folders, notification preferences.

03What goes over the network

The whole transfer stays inside your local network. Devices find each other over mDNS (Bonjour), an “I am here” announcement that travels only on your own network and carries no file names. The files themselves flow directly between the two devices.

To be straight with you, there is exactly one exception: the update check. The Windows and Android apps contact the update server to find out whether a newer version has been released. That request only downloads version information. It sends nothing about who you are or what you moved, and with no internet the check simply fails quietly while the app carries on.

When you start a Sendro Link (guest session) your computer publishes a temporary, expiring page for the files you picked. That page is also reachable only from the local network and is never exposed to the internet. Closing the session kills the link for good.

04Permissions, and why

Photos / GallerySo incoming photos and videos can be saved to your gallery. Sendro does not read your gallery; it only adds to it.
Local networkTo find your computer on the same Wi-Fi and connect to it. This is the entire purpose of the app.
CameraOnly on the QR pairing screen, to read the square. No image is stored and nothing is sent anywhere.
NotificationsSo you can be told when a file arrives or a transfer finishes. The content of a sent message never appears in a notification.

05Children and third parties

Because Sendro collects no personal data at all, it collects none from children either. There is no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking library in the app, so no data exists to share with anyone.
